Course Description:
This course provides foundation knowledge for healthcare professionals to gain a mastery of infection control subject matter. The specific subject matter includes but is not limited to disease transmission and infection prevention, techniques of disinfection, sterilization, and instrument processing.
Course Objectives:
Assure that licensed, registered, or certified health professionals understand how bloodborne pathogens may be transmitted in the work environment: patient to healthcare worker, healthcare worker to patient, and patient to patient
Apply current scientifically accepted infection prevention and control principles as appropriate for the specific work environment
Minimize opportunity for transmission of pathogens to patients and healthcare workers
Familiarize professionals with the mandate requiring this training and the professional misconduct charges that may be applicable for not complying with the law.

Danni Gomes BSDH, FAADH, RDH
Danni Gomes is an alumni of Fones School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport which she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist at Fort Washington Dental Associates. Danni is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at New York University College of Dentistry; Dental Hygiene & Dental Assisting Department.
She is an American Heart Association Training Center Faculty and Basic Life Support Instructor. Danni is the Founder/Director of Creative Dental Connections LLC dba CPR24, and the Executive Director of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene Inc. (AADH).
Danni is also a Fellow of the AADH. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, American Dental Education Association, International Association of Orofacial Myology, and the International Association of Healthcare Professionals.
